Tên bài báo The application of self-directed learning in learning writing to second-year students of English major at Thai Nguyen University of Education 
Tóm tắt Self-directed learning (SDL) in learning writing plays an important part in learners’ performance, so providing writing techniques for students at class is crucial. Writing techniques of second-year English major students at Thai Nguyen University of Education (TUE) remain considerably limited. A wide range of commonly written errors which lower their written product qualities have been exposed to. Therefore, the researchers would like to do this study for an applicable SDL approach to learning writing to second-year students who are on average at pre-intermediate levels of English language proficiency. In the scope of learning methodology, this study will be mainly put on some restricted backgrounds on SDL (as the central base), the task-based learning (TBL) framework and the approaches to student learning writing in ESL classes (as the supporting bases of the central SDL base). Specifically, the researchers want to intensively focus on what fundamental and key principles of SDL are, and what essential elements of SDL are needed for both teachers and students. Besides, the researchers would also like to consider what types of assessment are actually productive to assess as well as measure student writer’s progress. Finally, the TBL framework will be considered at the range of student learning written English.
