GROUP PRESENTATION ACCORDING TO GLOBAL SUCCESS 12 TEXTBOOK, UNIT 2: A MULTICULTURAL WORLD: EFFECTIVENESS IN DEVELOPING ENGLISH SPEAKING SKILLS

Abstract

 This paper focuses on investigating the effectiveness of cross-cultural group presentations in the Global Success 12 textbook on the development of English speaking skills of high school students. The study was conducted with 73 grade 12 students at a high school in Gia Lai province, using a Likert questionnaire to collect data after students completed Unit 2: A Multicultural World and participated in group presentations. The data was processed using SPSS 20.0 software to analyze the reliability, response trends and the influence of psychological and learning factors on English speaking skills. The results showed that students participating in group presentations had a marked improvement in fluency, reflexes, confidence, and the level of use of English in communication. At the same time, factors such as feeling safe, supported, and excited about teamwork also play a positive role in this process. The Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient ranges from 0.758 to 0.798, indicating that the scales are highly reliable. The study also noted the divergence in students’ personal perceptions and limitations on survey sample sizes and suggested future expanded studies.
